Ombré & Balayage
Ombre and Balayage come hot from the secret salons of the A-list and have changed the way we colour our hair forever!
The word “ombre” comes from the French word “shadow”. Ombre is the actual style. It is the transition of a lighter shade from a darker shade. Generally, ombres work best on brunettes because it is the least subtle of all the techniques, a sombre is what we would see on blondes. Hair is coloured or left natural on the crown, getting gradually lighter further towards the bottom. This effect mimics the way naturally sunkissed hair would grow out and is a more glamorous and modern twist on the dip dye. Sombre, short for subtle ombre, it is a softer blend the technique is slightly more subtle, hence the word sombre. Ombre is great for the more daring girl, it is definitely more noticeable there are no dark pieces left on the bottom to help keep it natural, just a nice transition between the colors making it a beautiful modern look
The word “Balayage” comes from another French word meaning “to sweep”. When applying the color for a balayage, you sweep the color through small triangle sections of the hair onto a board or foil, giving it the natural transition down into the lighter color. In Balayage, there are dark pieces left on the bottom to create dimension and a more natural look. This technique looks like natural sun-kissed highlights throughout the hair. The transition is more natural and it is less maintenance than an ombre. Balayage is also known as hair painting (due to the free form brush style) giving a natural-looking finish based on where the sun would lighten hair.
An exclusive and high demand service we offer when it comes to colouring is our colour off treatment which removes colour so you can achieve a new colour in the same day.
This is an intensive treatment and will take you a full day to complete for excellent results! We will require a non refundable deposit of £25.00 and this will secure your appointment. The deposit will be deducted from the total of the treatment.
